01
These are my views alone
Everything published here is written in a personal capacity and represents my own opinion at the time of writing. It is not the view of any employer, client, partner, builder, developer, broker, society, association, political party, government body or authority, past or present. No piece is commissioned, sponsored, paid for or reviewed by anyone before it goes out.
02
No harm is intended
Writing about property markets, civic decisions and politics means naming institutions and the choices they make. That is criticism of decisions and outcomes, offered in good faith and in the public interest.
Nothing on this site is intended to defame, disparage, humiliate, threaten or cause harm, financial, reputational or personal, to any individual, community, caste, religion, region, profession or organisation. Where a person is named it is because their public role is relevant to the point being made, never for anything else. If a piece reads otherwise to you, that is worth telling me, and I will look at it.
03
Not professional advice
This is commentary, not advice. Nothing here is legal, financial, tax, investment, brokerage, valuation, structural or planning advice, and reading it creates no professional relationship. Rates, circulars, approvals, ward boundaries and timelines change constantly, and a piece is accurate only as of its date. Verify against the primary record and a qualified professional before you act.
04
No listings, no commissions
I do not sell property, broker deals, take referral fees, or accept payment to write about a project, locality or builder. If a piece ever involves a material interest of mine (a flat I own, a society I belong to, a family holding) that interest is stated in the piece itself, at the top, not in a footnote.
05
Sources and estimates
Where a number comes from a public document, the document is linked. Where it is an estimate, it is labelled as one and the method is stated. Photographs are mine unless credited; diagrams are drawn to explain a point and are not to scale unless they say so.
06
Corrections policy
Errors get fixed in public, not quietly:
Write to hello@kothari.info with the URL and what is wrong.
07
Right of reply
If you or your organisation is criticised here and you want to respond, you may. Send a reply of up to 300 words and it will be published under the piece, unedited except for anything unlawful, with no rebuttal appended to it.
